Established in the 1990s to resist industrial pollution, the Baimi Community organization revived the wooden clog industry to recover the ecology and environment which once graced the community. Producing a number of miracles stemming from the rebuilding of the community as a whole, Baimi has continued to push for ecological sustainability and preserving local culture.
In 2018, Baimi Village stepped out of the Wooden Clogs Village Exhibition Hall to promote river ecology, agricultural experience, and fun & informative bicycle cultural tours, so that visitors can enjoy Baimi Wooden Clogs Village with all their senses. The depth to which people immerse themselves into the experience determines how much the experience will affect them. Baimi Wooden Clogs Village no longer features just clogs; today, you can explore Houhoukeng River(猴猴坑溪) by oxen. Now that the Suhua Highway Improvement Project has been passed, don’t forget to come seek adventure in the Baimi Community.
