In 2001, master pastry maker Mr. Liu Teng-Hui developed thin cow tongue cakes which he dubbed “Yilan cakes”. In 2009, he opened the Yi-Lan Cake Invention Hall, so visitors can learn how he made them so thin, while creating their own.
