Established in 1909, the Yilan Distillery is the only working distillery over 100-years old in Taiwan. It features a number of exhibition halls, including the Chia Chi Lan Liquor Museum, the Taiwan Anka Museum, the Hungluh Art Gallery, the TTL Theme Hall, and the Chiew Bank. Other than the liquor storage area, all areas are open to the public free of charge.
Years ago, the distillery’s main products were rice wine and Hungliu Chiew. In recent years, it has focused more on the development of anka products, such as County Hungluh Chiew 縣酒紅露 and anka sausages, which fill the exhibition hall with a delectable aroma.
Despite its age, this distillery is full of life with every corner telling its story and the worn walls narrating its history.
