From the historical perspective of the Han Chinese, Wu Sha performed a tremendous service when he helped settle the conflict between the Han Chinese and the Kavalan people in Yilan. Wu Sha’s Former Residence consists of a traditional “sanheyuan”, a central building with two wings attached perpendicular to either side. The main building features a portrait of Wu Sha. In the old residence, there are numerous exhibition boards explaining his experience in Yilan as well as farming tools and living utensils from that bygone era for visitors to view. If you would like to better understand Yilan, come visit the Former Residence of Wu Sha to see how difficult life was for the area’s settlers.
