  • After 18 years of preparation and construction, the Lanyang Museum was opened on the wetlands near the old Wushi Harbor. The exterior of the museum’s main structure was designed to resemble cuestas, local geographical formations that are prevalent along the northeast coast near Toucheng to convey the idea that “Yilan is a museum” and bring together the beauty of Yilan’s mountains, ocean, and flatlands. With all museum research, collections, promotions, and exhibitions conducted or found here in Yilan, it is the primary window from which to get to know the local nature and culture and is the base from which the Yilan family of museums is promoted.

    • From Keelung, take Provincial Highway No. 2 (Binhai Rd.) southbound past Beiguan kilometer marker 134.5 to reach the Museum.

    • Take National Highway No. 5 through Hsuehshan Tunnel. Exit from the Toucheng interchange towards Toucheng / Wushi Harbor and continue along Provincial Highway No. 2 past Beiguan kilometer marker 134.5 to reach the Museum.

  3. Public transportation

    • Take National Highway No. 5 Capital Bus or Kamalan Bus, disembark at Jiaoqi station then transfer to the Yilan County bus (No.131, 1766 on weekdays; No. Red 1 on weekends) to either the Lanyang Museum or Wushi Harbor stop.

    • Take the National Highway No. 5 KUO-KUANG Bus to the Lanyang Museum or Wushi Harbor stop.
